Edinson Cavani – Arsene Wenger hinted he is yet to bid £62m for Cavani from Paris Saint-Germainas the media reported some days ago.
Speaking to the media after watching his side claim three points in a very tough game against Queens Park Rangers last night, Wenger although did not clearly state he was not in for Cavani called rumours the report of him offering £62m for the Uruguayan.
Wenger said: “I don’t give any importance to rumours. There was a rumour two days ago in France that I offered £62m for Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain. Everyday there is a different rumour so I don’t give importance to that.
Cavani has been long linked to Arsenal in recent years and there have been strong reports he could be on his way to Arsenal.
Lukas Podolski – Arsene Wenger in this post-match chat with the press just after the Premier League match against Queens Park Rangers refused to comment on Podolski leaving the club amid interest from Inter Milan. Wenger did hint Podolski would get some playing time.
“In every big club you have some players who don’t play and they are not happy. If you find players who are happy when they don’t play you have a problem. He [Podolski] will play.
“[Tomas] Rosicky had an outstanding game today and he didn’t play for a long time. Our job is always to be ready when you play.”
Podolski has not enjoyed enough playing time this season, having only started two games and there have been reports he would prefer to leave Arsenal as he hopes to get enough playing time.
With the availability of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud in the squad, Lukas Podolski has not found life easy and sometimes gets to sit on the bench for the young Yaya Sanogo.
However, things should get better in the next games thanks to Olivier Giroud picking up a straight red card in the game against Queens Park Rangers. Podolski might just have got the games he needed to prove himself
